Solera needed a solution to repurpose two existing 1” Halo-Lit Solera Logos, originally created for hanging signs, and integrate them into a brand-new, larger Aluvision booth for NADA 2024. This new configuration also required incorporating an additional, larger 1” Halo-Lit Solera Logo. The solution needed to allow for continued use of the existing logos on hanging signs while seamlessly integrating all three logos into the Aluvision structure.

The Challenge: Reuse and Flexibility Across Configurations

Repurposing illuminated 3D logos presents unique challenges, particularly when transitioning between drastically different booth configurations and structures like Aluvision. The objectives for this project were:

1. Reuse the existing Solera Halo-Lit Logos without damaging their current build or requiring complete disassembly.

2. Create a solution that would allow easy integration into the new Aluvision structure without sacrificing quality or visual appeal.

3. Ensure the logos could continue to be used with both the new booth configuration and future hanging sign applications.

Traditional methods of reusing 3D signage would require labor-intensive processes, including removing standoffs, rewiring power, and reconfiguring alignment—an inefficient and expensive approach.

The Idea: Interchangeable Modular Innovation

Magnalign's patented Anchor SEGConnect system offered a perfect solution with its modular and reusable design. Solera had already successfully utilized Magnalign products for three SEG hanging signs at multiple previous events, demonstrating their effectiveness. Now, the challenge was to expand their application into a larger, more complex structure while preserving the ability to use them across multiple configurations.

Magnalign’s modular standoff design allowed the logos to be reconfigured for both the SEG hanging signs and hard wall integrations, eliminating the need for disassembly between uses.

The Solution: Magnalign Anchor SEGConnects Deliver Versatility & Efficiency

The team at Magnalign collaborated closely with Solera’s signage and booth design partners to create an innovative and reusable solution:

1. New Backer Standoffs:
   Anchor backer standoffs with brass inserts were pre-installed behind the Aluvision walls to support the SEG fabric. These backers remained in place during transport and setup, eliminating the need for complicated alignment processes on-site.

2. Magnetic Cups:
   Magnalign’s magnetic cups provided a strong, secure connection while significantly increasing shear strength. This enhanced the durability of the mounted logos, while allowing for seamless reuse in future booth configurations.

3. Interchangeable Center Connectors:
   The modular center connectors allowed the existing logos to integrate flawlessly into the new Aluvision structure while retaining their compatibility with SEG hanging signs. This ensured that all logos could easily transition between configurations without rewiring or reconstructing components.
